United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 11th November, 2014: The show will go on, as Louder Entertainment announces that musical extravaganza The Music of Queen, will be creating its own kind of magic in Dubai as Queen has just releases their latest album ‘Queen Forever’. Whether you’re a fat-bottomed girl or an invisible man, the music knows no boundaries and cuts right across the generations. Fans of all ages are welcome to the electrifying concert on 28th November at Dubai Media City’s Amphitheatre, which will be jam-packed with all of Queen’s chart-topping hits, from Bohemian Rhapsody to Radio Ga Ga.
Dubbed one of the biggest rock shows on earth, fans will be treated to the kind of magic you get from combining one of London’s finest rock recording session bands, with the leading stars straight from the London West End smash hit musical, “We Will Rock You”. Pete Eldridge, Julie Stark, Jenna Lee James and Jason Wooten will be accompanied by the rock band and the UAE’s resident professional 46-piece NSO Symphonic Pops Orchestra conducted by the show’s musical arranger Richard Sidwell.
With in excess of 300 million albums sold worldwide, glam rockers Queen are one the few truly iconic British bands. With more than four decades of music and 18 number one albums to their names, they are recognized as one of the most influential rock bands of all time.
More than 70 profession performers will take to the stage at the Amphitheatre to rock out to much-loved Queen classic masterpieces including; We Will Rock You, Somebody to Love, A Kind of Magic, Fat-Bottomed Girls, Don’t Stop Me Now and of course the most famous of them all, Bohemian Rhapsody. The show will blend the sounds of the NSO Symphonic Pops, with its locally based professionals from the UK, Europe and the US, together with a top professional Rock Band straight out of London’s west end, all who have been auditioned by Queen themselves. Think Electric Guitars, bass, drum kit and live acoustic Symphonic Strings, wind, brass and percussion for one night only!
The NSO Symphonic Pops Orchestra is part of the NSO Symphony Orchestra, which was founded in 2011 by Abu Dhabi-based entrepreneur and former opera singer Janet Hassouneh, who has resided in the UAE for the past 30 years. Led by its Musical Director and Conductor Andrew Berryman, the NSO has performed before more than 20,000 people at its home base in the UAE capital and has been seen recently by worldwide satellite in their performance of Jaz Coleman’s Arabic music-inspired pieces at the 2014 Dubai World Cup Horse Race Opening Ceremony performance. They have also performed at guest events such as the “Video Games Live” multi-media concert from Los Angeles.
The NSO Symphonic Pops Orchestra will be performing an amazing programme of original Queen arrangements by British composer Richard Sidwell, who proved he has one vision by transforming the hits into a completely new symphonic score, giving fans a unique opportunity to hear these classic songs like never before. Richard, who trained at The London College of Music, has recorded and gigged with a stellar cast of musical stars in his career, including Blur, The Stranglers, Robbie Williams, Duran Duran, The Pet Shop Boys, Sir Tom Jones, Boy George, Sir Bob Geldof, Gary Barlow and more.
