The NSO Chamber Music Series opens its 2014-2015 Season with a delightful concert on Saturday 11th October in the Brighton College Abu Dhabi Auditorium. The show entitled “Sing for Pink”, will honour breast cancer survivors and is aimed to raise awareness and support for ‘Breast Cancer Arabia‘, a non-profit organisation.
'Sing for Pink', features the professional vocal talents of the NSO Three Sopranos performing an exciting array of solo and semi staged ensemble selections from popular operatic and Broadway repertoire including Carmen, La Traviata, Carnival, Wizard of Oz, and many more. The Three NSO Sopranos, Gretchen Hewitt (USA), Sonia González (Venezuela) and Louise Merrifield (England), all are professional vocal artists in their home countries performing in opera, oratorio, musical theatre and contemporary works.
Piano artist Aurora Muratti joins the singers on stage as well as visual artist Wilma Burton whose 'Healing Art' paintings will provide the colourful and inspiring stage décor for this evening‘s concert.
The aim of the NSO Symphony Orchestra (NSO), founded in 2011, is to capture the audience's imagination with extraordinary performances, educational offerings and partnerships to bring people together in the United Arab Emirates. NSO has the mission to engage, enrich and inspire people through its annual series of main season orchestral concerts, chamber music series concerts, a Young Artist Concerto Competition, and educational programmes.
Launched in 2012, the NSO Chamber Music Series runs alongside the main NSO symphony orchestral concerts. The series aims to enrich audiences in the UAE with this more intimate musical form and to showcase the many outstanding musicians and vocalists of the NSO Symphony Orchestra who are based here in the UAE.
The NSO 'Sing for Pink' concert is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Classic FM, Brighton College-Abu Dhabi, Newfound Pianos Gulf, The MCC Group, Sunny Pops, Timeout Tickets and Spinneys –Khaladiya.
The concert will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 7:30PM in the Auditorium of the Brighton College - Abu Dhabi.
General admission ticket is AED 125, VIP tickets at AED 200 and student tickets available at AED 75.
